CSUF Alumni Association Toasts New Academic Year
Aug. 29, 2012
Titan alumni, family and friends gathered for a good cause and great cuisine at Cal State Fullerton Alumni Association’s award-winning “Vintage57 – A Premiere Wine & Food Tasting Experience” at the Golleher Alumni House Saturday, Aug. 25.
The first alumni event of the academic year began with a special Titan Toast by President Mildred García, who was attending her first alumni event as president of Cal State Fullerton.
“I want to thank you for your loyal support of this great institution, and you should know that I am extremely proud to be the President of Cal State Fullerton — the best campus in the CSU system. May Titans always be celebrated for standing taller and reaching higher,” toasted García.
Nearly 200 attendees had the opportunity to sample culinary delights from around the world: Greece, Italy, Hawaii, Mexico, Great Britain, Vietnam, France, India and the American South. The menu was specially paired with 16 different wines.
A silent auction including wine, travel, golf, entertainment and art was held in support of the Alumni Association student scholarship program. More than $9,000 was raised that evening, a $2,000 increase from past auctions.
“What a wonderful evening and fabulously orchestrated event! It was a shining moment with Dr. García present,” said Stacy Bradshaw (B.A., M.A. speech communication ’03, ’05). “There was wonderful food, wine, friends and the weather was perfect.”
