Lynn M. Sargeant, associate professor of history, will deliver a Wednesday, Sept. 26, lecture on the history of sexuality in Russia, and on the politicization of history in Russia and in the United States. The free lecture, “Queering History,” is part of Cal State Fullerton’s “Thinking Queer Speaker Series.”

The lecture will take place at 5 p.m. in the Portola Pavilion of the Titan Student Union.

Sargeant said her talk will explore the controversies over the composer P. I. Tchaikovsky’s life, death and musical works; recent anti-gay legislation in Russia; and the debate over SB 48, the FAIR Education Act that Gov. Jerry Brown recently signed into law that ensures that the contributions of gays and gay rights are included in school textbooks, and efforts to overturn it.
