Faculty, Staff Attend National Council for Community and Education Partnerships/GEAR UP Conference

Five Cal State Fullerton faculty and staff members recently attended and co-presented papers at the 2012 National Council for Community and Education Partnerships/GEAR UP Conference Washington, D.C.

David L. Pagni, professor of mathematics, Kandy Mink Salas, associate vice president for student affairs, Adriana Badillo, GEAR UP project director, joined Michael Mitsuda of Anaheim Union High School District in delivering “Developing Organizational Structures for Systemic Change: Lessons and Strategies Learned in Fostering a Sustainable Partnership”; Ivan Pena, GEAR UP assistant director, co-presented with Sara Wood and Mandy Paterson from AUHSD “Hunger Games — Saturday Academy: Utilizing Engaging Materials and Curriculum Design to Enhance a Passion for Reading,” and Pagni and Cheryl B. Zimmerman, professor of modern languages and literatures read “Engaging Students in Mathematical Discourse.”
