Using Skype for Tutoring

Aug. 23, 2012

Mihaylo College of Business and Economics has taken tutoring to the web and is offering online sessions using Skype for students enrolled in the Information Systems and Decision Sciences course “Quantitative Business Analysis: Probability and Statistics,” a foundational course for any business administration major.

“Using Skype increases the number of tutoring hours offered for students in the evening,” noted Emeline Yong, assistant dean of student affairs in the college. “We developed it for students attending the class at the Cal State Fullerton Irvine Campus, as well as any student who needs the assistance.”

The online tutoring was underwritten by a University Mission & Goals Initiative and was developed with Dawit Zerom, professor of information systems and decision sciences, and tutors Megan Brodsky and Duy Do, who demonstrate the process in this video.
