New Academic Programs AVP Named
Interim AVP for Faculty Affairs Also Appointed

José L. Cruz, provost and vice president for academic affairs, has announced the appointment of Peter Nwosu as the new associate vice president for academic programs, effective Jan. 14.
Nwosu has more than 20 years experience, including tenure as associate vice president for academic affairs, institutional planning and assessment at Tennessee State University in Nashville. He also served as special assistant to the president for institutional planning at that same institution, and has taught communication studies at Cal State Sacramento and an administrator in Cal State Northridge's College of Arts, Media and Communications.
In addition, Cruz announced the appointment of Barry Pasternack, professor emeritus of information systems and decision sciences, as interim associate vice president for faculty affairs through the spring semester. Pasternack, who joined the university in 1977, has served a wide variety of administrative roles from CSU Statewide Academic Senate chair, secretary and treasurer to member of the campus Academic Senate, department chair and president of the Fullerton Chapter of the California Faculty Association.
