Three Emeriti Named

Angela Della Volpe was recently honored for her 33 years of service to the campus with the conferral of the title dean of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences and professor emeritus of English, comparative literature and linguistics by President Mildred García.
In addition to her service as dean and as a faculty member since 1980, Dell Volpe was recognized for her services as University and college director of the Educational Equity Program, associate dean of the college of HSS and chair of the Linguistics Department. During her tenure on campus, she served as lead on the Vietnamese Language Project and co-lead on the Southern California Strategic Languages Initiative federal grant that supported the teaching of nontraditional languages at five California State University campuses.
Also honored with the conferral of emeriti status:
Kathleen R. Koser, associate dean of the College of Health and Human Development and associate professor emeritus of health science, following 26 years of service during which she served as department and division chair, as well as a member of several University committees. For several years she conducted a national survey of middle management training programs in Veterans Administration medical centers, which earned her four consecutive Department of Veterans Affairs performance awards. She was a member of several veterans affairs task forces and was a consultant to state and regional organizations, including the California Department of Education and Department of Drug and Alcohol Abuse.
John C. Reinard, department chair and professor emeritus of human communication studies, in honor of his 23 years of campus service, including six years as department chair. During his tenure, Reinard authored seven books and more than 100 articles and publications.
