Two Faculty Awarded Difference-in-Pay Leaves
Aug. 22, 2013
Two faculty members were awarded difference-in-pay leaves for the 2013-14 academic year.
Difference in pay leaves are granted for purposes that provide a benefit to the CSU, such as research, scholarly and creative activity, instructional improvement or faculty retraining, as outlined in University Policy Statement 260.104.
Diane Clemens-Knott, professor of geological sciences, will use the leave to conduct preliminary field investigations in the Western Sierra foothills and High Sierra as the basis for upcoming grant proposals and to write and submit four papers on the results of completed student-faculty research projects in groundwater geochemistry, magma evolution and ancient sediments.
Robert Voeks , professor of geography, will be teaching ethnobotany at Eduardo Mondlane University in Mozambique and collaborating on field work on the ethnobotany of the Ronga people as a Fulbright Fellowship recipient.
