The presenters are:
- Anil K. Puri, dean of Mihaylo College of Business and Economics since 1999 and co-director of the Center for Economic Analysis and Forecasting.
- Mira Farka, associate professor of economics and co-director of the Center for Economic Analysis and Forecasting, previously served on Wall Street as a research consultant and an economist with Deutsche Bank in New York.
- Richard K. Davis, a 1983 Cal State Fullerton economics graduate who has served with U.S. Bancorp since 1993, becoming president in 2004, CEO in 2006 and chairman in 2007.
The theme of the presentation is based on the escape velocity principle of physics in which an object reaches a speed to 'break free' of gravity without additional propulsion. "We will be discussing whether this recovery has reached the point of 'breaking free' from the gravitational pull of the Great Recession and whether it is able to stand on its own without fiscal/monetary support," explained Farka.
