Emeriti Award Student Scholarships
Sept. 12, 2013
Emeriti faculty, staff and administrators continued to show their support and dedication to education through the awarding of two Emeriti Memorial Scholarships today (Sept. 12) at a luncheon hosted by President Mildred García.
Recipients of the $1,000 scholarships are
Rasmey M. Thach, a graduate student in the Pre-Health Professions Studies Certificate Program who earned her undergraduate degree, in psychology and business administration-finance from the University of Washington
Aspen H. Yoo, an undergraduate majoring in psychology with a minor in mathematics and Minority Access to Research Careers (MARC) scholar studying deception detection.
The Emeriti Scholarship Fund was initiated in 1987 by the late Gertrude Reith, professor emeritus of geography. It is underwritten by voluntary contributions by members of the organization, as well as an association's $50 contribution for each member who has died. The association also contributes to the University's Guardian Scholarship Program and to the Pollak Library.
