The following individuals have been appointed or reappointed as department chairs or program coordinators, effective Aug. 19, unless otherwise noted. Appointment terms are three years, unless otherwise noted.

Robert Gass, Human Communication Studies, two-year appointment

Interim Appointments in Academic Affairs
Angela Della Volpe
, who stepped down as dean of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences effective July 31, will serve a one-year term as interim deputy provost.
Sheryl Fontaine named interim dean of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences effective Aug. 1.
Shari McMahan , in addition to serving as dean of the College of Health and Human Development, will serve as interim associate vice president for research, creative activities and technology transfer until a permanent appointment is made for that position.
Anil Puri , in addition to serving as dean of Mihaylo College of Business and Economics, will serve as interim associate vice president for academic programs until a permanent appointment is made for that position.
Lynn Sargeant , professor of history, was named interim director of undergraduate studies for the 2013-14 academic year. She will report to the interim associate vice president for academic programs.
