Learning Benchmark Conference Brings Workforce Development Leaders to Campus
Nov. 6, 2013
Last month, 42 leaders in workforce development and training, representing 35 local companies, gathered at the Fullerton Arboretum to participate in the 10th annual Learning Benchmark Conference, sponsored by University Extended Education. Participants engaged in discussions and intensive collaboration on workforce training best practices.
"The very real and candid exchanges among participants were some of the most important parts of the conference," said Sally Starr, director of UEE's community outreach and workforce strategy.
Lori Gentles, vice president for human resources, diversity and inclusion, was one of the speakers and focused on how external and internal pressures are creating a shift from specialists to a need for professionals who have the ability to work effectively across an organization.
