Afghan Woman Speaks Out On War-Torn Nation

Afghan human rights activist Malalai Joya speaks on campus Oct. 21.
Afghan human rights activist and author Malalai Joya will address issues facing women in her war-torn nation from 10 a.m. to noon Monday, Oct. 21, in Room 318 of Langsdorf Hall. Math P. Cuajungco, CSUF associate professor of biological science, and KPFK-Los Angeles are hosting the event, open to the campus community and public. Cuajungco is a volunteer for the Afghan Women's Mission, a co-sponsor of Joya's U.S. speaking tour. The nonprofit organization supports projects run by Afghan women involving clinics, schools, orphanages and other humanitarian activities.
