Diversity Forum Focuses on Student Equality

Student equality is the focus of a Wednesday, Nov. 20, diversity forum, “Unequal by Design: Schooling the Poor and Students of Color in Today’s Public Schools and Universities," in Room 109 (formerly the Academic Senate Chambers) in the Titan Bookstore. Educator-activists will present a panel discussion, “The Privatization of Public Higher Education,” from 3-5 p.m., and Wayne Au, associate professor of education at the University of Washington, will give the 6 p.m. keynote address, “Recolonizing Our Classrooms: The Race and Class Hypocrisy of Corporate Education Reform.” The event is free and open to the public.
