Oct. 18 Concert Features Ellington, Gershwin

Cal State Fullerton’s Jazz Orchestra and Big Band will play the music of Duke Ellington and George Gershwin at a concert Oct. 18. Bill Cunliffe, Grammy Award winner and professor of music, will conduct. The 8 p.m. concert will be held in Meng Concert Hall in the Clayes Performing Arts Center. Tickets are available online.
The student musicians are: trumpet players Paco Agredano, Eric Lund, James Teubner, Corbin Morris, Troy Sargeant, Jennifer Rudloff and Ken Sitham; trombone players Brad Bain, Andrew de Stackelberg, Darren Willet, Luke Verseput, Isaiah Castro and Cody Kleinhans; alto saxophonists Sayle Garcia, Steven Ragsdale, Eric Rafnson and Josh Wen; tenor saxophonists Derek Nimmo, Andrew Berg, Dennis Hernandez-Caffey, Nathan King, Glen Turner; bari saxophonists Nathan Evans and Sean Mahaffey; brass players Aidan McDonough, Eli Kim and Chris Hon; pianists Mark Herrera, Rubi Diaz and Mina Choi; drummers Art Ramirez, Jessica Miller, Stephen Dizon and Bryant Nuno; guitarists Michael Salas and Dominic Miller. Singer Johnny Coppola also will perform.
