Former Treasury Official Meets Student Engineers
Oct. 2, 2013
Neel Kashkari, who played a pivotal role in the passage and implementation of the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act as interim assistant secretary of the treasury, visited last week with students from CSUF’s Formula Society of Automotive Engineers team, which designs and builds race cars for collegiate competition. While a mechanical engineering student at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Kashkari led a similar project, building a solar-powered car the school entered in a race from Indiana to Colorado. Kashkari, who earned a master’s degree in engineering, toured the college and met with administrators and faculty members.
