Faculty Authors Discuss Books, Research

College of Humanities and Social Sciences Sponsors “Meet the Authors” April 19

A group of Cal State Fullerton faculty members who recently published books will gather April 19 in the Titan Student Union to talk about their books and the research they conducted to produce them. The event, which is free and open to the public, is part of College of Humanities and Social Sciences Week. 

The authors and the books they will discuss:

  • 10 a.m. — Erica Ball, associate professor of American studies, “To Live an Anti-Slavery Life”
  • 11 a.m. — Carrie M. Lane , associate professor of American studies, “A Company of One”
  • Noon — Benjamin Cawthra , associate professor of history, “Blue Notes in Black and White”
  • 1 p.m. — Brian McCabe , lecturer in geography, “Geography is Dead: How America Lost Its Sense of Direction”
  • 1:30 p.m. Robert A. Voeks, professor of geography, “African Ethnobotany in the Americas”

The talks will be held in the Portola Pavilion, and the authors will sign books afterward. The event is sponsored by the college and the sociology honor society Alpha Kappa Delta. For more information, call 657-278-3528.
