Titans Anticipate Homecoming Week

Cal State Fullerton alumni, faculty, staff, students and community members will be showing Titan pride during a series of activities, including the inauguration of President Mildred García, in celebration of Homecoming.

Scheduled activities include a homecoming carnival, a fashion show and a social during the Jan. 29 – Feb. 2 week of events, culminating in the men's basketball game vs. the Rainbow Warriors of the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa in Titan Gym, followed by a homecoming dance in the Titan Student Union.

Kicking off the festivities will be a Tuesday, Jan. 29, All-Campus Pep Rally from noon to 1 p.m. in the Quad.

Wednesday, Jan. 30, will feature a noon-1 p.m. Associated Students Inc./Titan Shops Homecoming Fashion Show in the Quad.

A Homecoming Carnival will be held from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, along Titan Walk.

Friday, Feb. 1 begins with the 9 a.m. Presidential Inauguration Ceremony in the Meng Concert Hall of the Clayes Performing Arts Center. The program is themed "Celebrating Titan Pride: Reaching Toward a Promising Future and Ensuring Student Success" and will be followed by a reception. The event is open to the public, though seating is limited. Reservations can be made online.

That evening, students can gather and relax at the Student Housing Social. The 5-7 p.m. event will be held in the plaza adjacent to the Gastronome.

Homecoming Day, Saturday, Feb. 2, launches with a 5 p.m. Titan Festival, where Titans of all ages can prepare to cheer on the men's basketball team to victory, in its bid for an NCAA tournament berth.

The pregame action, at the west side entrance to Titan Gym, includes an activity zone where there will be face painting, carnival games, a photo booth, balloon artist, caricaturist, crafts and a game truck. The Varsity Band, Spirit Squad and Dance Team will perform, Tuffy Titan will mingle with the crowd and campus tours will be offered beginning at 5:15 p.m.

Sponsors of the festival program include: Liberty Mutual Insurance, In-N-Out Burger, Associated Students Inc., the Cal State Fullerton Alumni Association, New Student Programs, OC Choice Catering, Titan Athletics and Titan Shops.

The tipoff for the Cal State Fullerton vs. University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa matchup is at 8 p.m. in Titan Gym. The game will be televised on Fox Prime Ticket.

Registration for the Feb. 2 festival and game is available online. The $20 price includes game tickets, meal ticket and a homecoming T-shirt. For additional information, email the Alumni Association office

Following the game, CSUF students can dance the night away from 10:30-12:30 a.m. in the Titan Student Union Underground.
