University Police Officer Jason Miller will be honored next month by Orange County's Auto Theft Advisory Committee during its May 9 Vehicle Theft Recovery Officer of the Year Awards. Miller is being recognized for recovering five stolen vehicles and apprehending three suspects.

"Thieves thinking of stealing a vehicle or leaving a stolen vehicle in and around CSUF's campus better hope Officer Jason Miller isn't on duty, because of his proactive approach to crime fighting and his dedication to the safety of our campus community," said Police Chief Dennis J. DeMaio. "I'm proud to commend him on this prestigious award."

The 2012 alumnus (B.A. criminal justice) joined the campus in September 2006 as a parking control officer, serving for two years before completing the Fullerton Police Academy and joining the University Police Department.

The Auto Theft Advisory Committee is composed of government agency representatives and private industry concerned with area auto theft-related crime.
