In Memoriam: Orrington C. Ramsay

Orrington C. Ramsay, emeritus professor of English, died April 18 from complications of a stroke. He was 92 years old.
Ramsay, a World War II veteran, received his bachelor's degree in English from Northwestern University, and his master's and doctorate degrees in English from the University of Wisconsin. He taught English at Fullerton College before becoming one of the founding faculty members of the Cal State Fullerton's English Department in 1960, where he served for 20 years. He received emeritus status in 1978.
The educator and author was a founding member of Morningside Presbyterian Church in Fullerton, where he served in numerous capacities over the years. He is survived by his children Linda R. Oclaray, Allan M. Ramsay, Joanne M. Ramsay, Bill Bush and Pat Fiala and several grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 1 at Melrose Abbey Memorial Park, 2303 S. Manchester Ave. in Anaheim.
