Spring Dance Theatre Kicks Off May 9

Plays Feature Premieres and Classics Through May 19

Faculty, students, alumni and guest artists are contributing choreography to this year’s Spring Dance Theatre performances. Coordinated by Gladys M. Kares, professor of theatre and dance, Spring Dance Theatre will be presented May 9 through May 19, 2013, in the Little Theatre of the Clayes Performing Arts Center on campus. The show opens with a piece excerpted from Tchaikovsky’s classical ballet, “Swan Lake,” followed by “Lost Souls,” “The Race Marked Out For Us,” “The Breath of Rivers,” “Torches” and “The 5 W’s.” The first performance May 9 will be dedicated to the late Araminta A. (Minta) Little, emeritus professor of dance. Performances begin at 8 p.m. May 9, 10, 11, 16, 17, 18, and at 2 p.m. May 12 and 19.
