SEC Financial Reporting Conference Slated

'Staying on Top of Current Trends and Future Developments'

Key current and future developments at the Securities and Exchange Commission, Public Company Accounting Oversight Board and Financial Accounting Standards Board are among the topics to be discussed Friday, Sept. 20, at the 12th annual SEC Financial Reporting Conference sponsored by Cal State Fullerton's Mihaylo College of Business and Economics.


Christopher Cox, former chairman of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, is the keynote speaker.

Other speakers include: Stephen Barta, office of the chief accountant, U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC); Lorraine Echavarria, associate regional director, SEC-Los Angeles office; Gregory Fletcher, associate chief auditor at the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB); Craig Olinger, acting chief accountant, SEC; and Marc Siegel, member of the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB).

Morning sessions will cover regulatory updates from the SEC and PCAOB, in addition to a panel presentation on current trends and future developments - controller/CFO perspectives. The afternoon program will include FASB updates and panel discussions.

Guest speakers include: Kevin Murphy of USC, Robert Knechel of the University of Florida and senior editor of Auditing: A Journal of Practice & Theory, Mike Esser of Pearl Meyer and Wayne Pinnell of Haskell & White.
