July 12, 2013
Diverse Issues in Higher Education has ranked Cal State Fullerton sixth in the nation and first in California for awarding bachelor's degrees to Hispanic students. Overall, Hispanics constitute 33 percent of the University's enrollment.
Cal State Fullerton was 11th nationally for total bachelor's degrees awarded to minorities — highest of the CSU campuses. The institution also was listed 13th in the nation for bachelor's degrees awarded to Asian Americans.
The listing, included in the July 4 issue of the publication's "Top 100 Degree Producers," is based on 2011-12 preliminary data from the U.S. Department of Education.
