College Executive Council Honors Faculty Member

The Mihaylo College of Business and Economics Executive Council has named Mira Farka, associate professor of economics, this year's recipient of its Outstanding Faculty Award. Winners of the annual award become the faculty marshal for the following year's commencement ceremonies.
Farka, co-director of the Institute for Economic and Environmental Studies, has been a member of the campus community since 2005 and holds both a masters degree and doctorate from Columbia University. Prior to joining the campus, she worked on Wall Street as a result consultant and as an economist with Deutsche Bank in New York, where she was responsible for designing economic and statistical models to forecast currency rates, stock returns and macroeconomic indicators.
