$1 Million HRSA Grant For Diversity in Nursing

July 15, 2013

The College of Health and Human Development has received a $1,050,000 grant from the Health Resources and Services Administration — part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services — for a three-year project to advance nursing workforce diversity. HHD Dean Shari McMahan announced the award, which was secured under the guidance of Christine Latham, professor of nursing.

This is the second award that Latham has garnered from the Health Resources and Services Administration for such a project. Earlier funding supported fellowships for candidates for master's degrees in nursing.
