Pre-Health Professions Minor Offered This Fall
July 18, 2013
Christina A. Goode, director of the Health Professions Advising Office and professor of chemistry and biochemistry, will oversee administration of the new minor in pre-health professions.
A new minor in pre-health professions to prepare Cal State Fullerton students from any major who wants to pursue advanced study in a health professions program has been approved and will be offered beginning in the fall semester.
The minor will give a structured pathway to meet health professions pre-requisites and recognizes this secondary field of study and specialization, said Christina A. Goode, director of the Health Professions Advising Office and professor of chemistry and biochemistry. More than 25 percent of CSUF students admitted each year to professional schools, such as medical, dental, pharmacy and veterinarian schools, are not traditional science majors.
"Coupled with intrusive advising and additional resources, this program will enhance the competitiveness of all of our CSUF students for professional school, regardless of their major," said Goode.
