University Librarian Pollard to Retire
June 26, 2013
University Librarian Richard C. Pollard is retiring after a 26-year career at Cal State Fullerton. Pollard helped usher in the digital age, a multimillion-dollar expansion and the renaming of the facility to the Paulina June and George Pollak Library.
Pollard’s retirement is effective July 31. Susan Tschabrun, presently the interim associate University librarian, will serve as interim University librarian. Provost José Luis Cruz said a national search for Pollard's successor will begin in the fall.
Pollard joined Cal State Fullerton in 1987, becoming the fourth full-time University librarian. He started his career as a cataloger at Stanford University, then held administrative positions at the University of Tennessee and the University of Chicago.
