Weeklong Institute Offers Training for Orange County Educators

Cal State Fullerton is hosting an institute Aug. 5-9 for 28 local middle and high school teachers on "Teaching Vietnamese Language, Culture and History," offered by the College of Humanities and Social Sciences and the College of Education, as part of the university's developing CSUF's Vietnamese language and teaching programs. "This knowledge will help teachers better understand and meet the needs of Vietnamese students in their classrooms," said Connie DeCapite, director of FIRST, who organized the institute with Victoria B. Costa, professor of secondary education. The teachers also will visit Little Saigon on Wednesday, Aug. 7.
