Business Center Offers Faculty Seminars for Industry

Oct. 3, 2014

Cal State Fullerton's Center for Leadership has signed an agreement with the Association of California Cities to offer programming of importance to city administrators and staff. "Bringing Learning to Work" is designed to connect Orange County corporations and organizations with faculty expertise through a series of half- or full-day sessions.

"This is a program we rolled out last year, which has been received favorably by such organizations as Allergan, St. Jude's Medical, Core Logic and the Honda Center," said Jay Barbuto, center director and professor of management. "It's a great synergy because we share our expertise with businesses, and we learn what they are seeking in their staff, which helps us prepare our students for their future careers."

"The program is remarkable — you get a tremendous value and a world-class training experience from true subject-matter experts," said Jay Scott, vice president of human resources for the Honda Center and Anaheim Ducks.

Program topics range from communication, team building, negotiation and diversity to organizational leadership and interpersonal and supervisory skills. For more information, email leadership@fullerton.edu.
