$1 Million Endowment Campaign Goal Reached
Center for Economic Analysis and Forecasting Named for Alumnus, Chairman Emeritus of Baker Hughes Inc., and His Wife

Cal State Fullerton President Mildred García today announced that a $1 million endowment campaign goal to support and sustain Mihaylo College's annual economic forecast and analysis has been reached.
The announcement was made at the annual Economic Forecast Conference sponsored by CSUF's Mihaylo College of Business and Economics and the Orange County Business Council — the annual event where the campaign and first pledge were announced two years ago.
The original pledge of $500,000 was made by James D. Woods, chairman emeritus and former CEO of Baker Hughes Inc., and his wife, Jeanette, longtime CSUF supporters. Woods, a 1967 business administration graduate, began his business career while attending the university.
"As many of you know, the pledge prompted a challenge to Orange County's business and community leaders to match the gift," explained President García. "I am proud to report, we did, in fact, meet that challenge. I want to thank the many individuals and businesses here today that helped make this possible.
"Make no mistake, as the community's generosity and support expand, so too does our students' and graduates' success," said García, noting that this spring's CSUF graduating class includes 2,600 who were educated and trained in the Mihaylo College of Business and Economics. "They are all Titans driven by their aspiration to 'reach higher' to achieve their academic goals and life dreams."
"I, too, am thankful that our community of alumni and business supporters joined together to meet this challenge from Jim Woods and that we are able to honor his long-standing support by naming the center that originates the forecast the James and Jeanette Woods Center for Economic Analysis and Forecasting," said Anil Puri, dean of Mihaylo College of Business and Economics. The Woods were unable to attend today's program.
Woods serves as a member of the Mihaylo College of Business and Economics Dean's Advisory Board, and in recognition of the couple's support during the business school's building campaign, his name graces the grand foyer of Mihaylo Hall.
