One of the Kinesiology Department laboratories established to help students learn about fitness assessment, exercise physiology and motor behavior, the Golf Research Lab is a 1,700 square-foot, state-of-the-art laboratory that uses biomechanic instruments to help golfers develop better golf swings. The facility also houses a nine-camera motion-capture system — the same system used to create James Cameron's movie "Avatar" — a portable indoor-outdoor ball-flight and launch monitor and a golf simulator.
The 11 a.m.-2 p.m. open house is open to the public. The golf lab is located on the lower level of the Kinesiology and Health Science Building, in Room 019.
