Business Majors Celebrate Business Madness

Business students will be learning about a day in the life of accounting and finance professionals, practice their business etiquette, and meet potential employers at this year's Business Madness events. The March 3-6 program is planned and sponsored by students from the college's student organizations.
Festivities kick off this week with a 10 a.m.-1 p.m. opening carnival Thursday, Feb. 27, in the courtyard of Mihaylo Hall.
11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. — "Day in the Life of ..," featuring Kim Letch, Christal Shillingsford, Kim Carroll and Jimmy Levers of Ernst & Young and Christ Burgee of DirecTV speaking about their careers, Room 3230 of Mihaylo Hall
5:30 - 7:30 p.m. — "Meet, Mix and Mingle Etiquette Program," in which students will learn more about the importance of first impressions, body language, appearance and building a network, in the Titan Student Union's Portola Pavilion.
6 - 8:30 p.m. — Mr. & Miss Business Pageant. Students go head-to-head with other students through a series of business questions in the Titan Student Union's Portola Pavilion.
1 - 4 p.m. — Business Expo featuring representatives of more than 60 businesses and agencies, ranging from Aetna, ADP, State Board of Equalization, Farmers Insurance, Kaiser Permanente, Kohl's Department Stores, PepsiCo, Sedgwick, Thyssenkrupp Aerospace, U.S. Bank, Walgreens and Zillow, in the Titan Student Union's Portola Pavilion.
7 p.m. — Mock Interviews, a collaboration with the Career Center, features interviews and feedback for participating students, in Room 321 of Langsdorf Hall.
"Our goal for Business Madness is to facilitate a greater degree of communication and cooperation between students affiliated with Mihaylo College of Business and Economics," said Matt Slagle, Business Inter-Club Council director of events. "In addition, we strive to foster and promote school unity, continual student organizational aid and to set each student up for success and life after graduation."
