Dela Cruz to Serve on HSI Educators Council

Maria V. Dela Cruz, project director of (STEM)² or Strengthening Transfer Education and Matriculation in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics, was elected to serve as a council member of the Alliance of Hispanic Serving Institution Educators.
Dela Cruz, Sam Barrozo, academic transition coordinator in mathematics, and Yanet Garcia, STEM program director at Cypress College, also spoke on the (STEM)² program at the organization's March 16-19 Best Practices Conference at the University of La Verne.
Also presenting at the conference were: Catalina Olvera , director of Enhancing Postbaccalaureate Opportunities at Cal State Fullerton for Hispanic Students, and Katherine Powers, director of graduate students, "Benefits of Mentoring: Changing the Campus Culture."
