Cal State Fullerton Hosts Federal Reserve Bank University Symposium

Business administration students at Cal State Fullerton will be learning more about monetary policy, as well as the purposes and functions of the Federal Reserve System, during a Thursday, April 17, Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco University Symposium hosted by the student Economics Association.

The symposium is a program offered by the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco. It utilizes exercises and student involvement to educate undergraduates about the function of the Federal Reserve System. Representatives from the Federal Reserve will conduct the program. A current economic outlook will be presented by one of the reserve bank economists, along with a real-time simulation of the Federal Open Market Committee. Students will take on the roles of the various committee members, voting on monetary policy and the target federal fund interest rate.
