'Honoring the Farm Workers' Struggle' Monday

Dolores Huerta, co-founder of United Farm Workers and recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom Award, and Jose Moreno, president of Los Amigos of Orange County, will be speaking Monday, March 24, as part of "Honoring the Farm Workers' Struggle — Through Community Activism and Education Advocacy."

Moreno will speak on the importance of community activism, during the 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. event. Attendees also are invited to view chalk murals, and musical and dance performances on the west side of the Humanities-Social Sciences Building.

From 3-9 p.m., in Portola Pavilion of the Titan Student Union, offerings will include faculty and student panel discussions, a screening of the documentary "The Struggle in the Fields," and a preview of the film "Cesar Chavez," which opens nationwide Friday, March 28.

Huerta will speak at 6 p.m. and a reception will follow.
