Grand Central Welcomes New Artists, Exhibit

Jan. 14, 2014

Two new artists — Julianne Swartz and Ken Landauer — have taken up residency at Cal State Fullerton's Grand Central Art Center. Their work, “Miracle Report,” will be on display Jan. 19-May 11. A public reception will be held from 7 to 10 p.m. Feb. 1.

In their exhibit, the artists explored the “miraculous through people’s perceptions of it in their lives,” said John D. Spiak, GCAC director and chief curator. “They combined their findings from interviews of students, schoolchildren and community members of all ages and backgrounds in an installation of fleeting vignettes, playing on all of the available sound and video equipment in the museum’s possession. In the words of the artists, ‘our installation strives to embody some beauty, some hocus-pocus and some unexplainable magic.’ ”

Grand Central is located at 125 N. Broadway in Santa Ana. For more information, call 714-567-7233.
