New Awards Program Focuses on Inclusivity

Jan. 27, 2014

Last week, Lori Gentles, vice president for human resources, diversity and inclusion, announced the University Awards Program that will be presented this spring to outstanding faculty and staff.

The theme — Celebrating the Spirit of Excellence — will feature three new award categories:

  •  Leadership
  •  Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
  •  University Teamwork and Collaboration

The Titan Excellence Award also will be presented this year.

"The University Awards Program is intended to be more inclusive, acknowledging the contributions and behaviors of both faculty and staff that align with and advance the university's strategic goals," said Gentles. "We are one university – with faculty, staff and administrators supporting each other as we serve our students. It is befitting that we celebrate our excellence together."

Nominations for the three new awards may be made by faculty, staff or administrators at any level. Completed forms must be received by Friday, Feb. 28, no later than 5 p.m. Nomination forms are available through the HR website under the "Awards" listing. Forms are also available in the Office of Human Resources.
