L. Donald Shields Presents Keynote Address at 35th Anniversary OLLI Luncheon

March 19, 2014

L. Donald Shields, Cal State Fullerton's second president (1970-1980), will present the keynote address at the University's Osher Lifelong Learning Institute's 35th Anniversary Kick-off Luncheon on Saturday, April 5, at the Coyote Hills Golf Course.

"Dr. Shields is one of our heroes," said Michael Stover, OLLI president. "He granted our charter in 1979, and he is the only surviving member of the University leadership team and the eight community leaders and educators who founded our organization."

The 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. event is open to the public, and doors will open at 11:30 a.m. at the Coyote Hills Golf Course, 1440 E. Bastanchury Road, Fullerton. Tickets are $25 per person and advance reservations are required by March 28. The deadline may be extended if seats are available. To make reservations, call 657-278-2446 or contact OLLI by email.

The kick-off luncheon is one of the signature events to mark the 35th anniversary for OLLI, a self-supporting university affiliate group of more than 1,300 retired and semiretired individuals dedicated to lifelong learning.
