Future STEM Teachers Showcase Science Learning
May 5, 2014
A "Science Education Showcase," featuring teaching activities, lesson plans, science project posters and original research highlighting science education by Cal State Fullerton K-12 teacher candidates will be presented from 3:30-5 p.m. Thursday, May 8, at the Fullerton Marriott.
The University's Center for Careers in Teaching "Engage in STEM" program hosts the free public event, in collaboration with the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics science education program's faculty and students.
Participants include students from Santa Ana College, a partner institution in the STEM program, which is funded through a nearly $6 million, U.S. Department of Education grant to Rancho Santiago Community College District in collaboration with CSUF and Fullerton College. Amy Cox-Petersen, Center for Careers in Teaching director and professor of elementary and bilingual education, leads the Engage in STEM program at CSUF.
