Cal State Fullerton Salutes Student Researchers

Winners of Outstanding Scholarly and Creative Activities Awards Announced

Seventeen graduate and undergraduate researchers were recognized for their efforts at a recent Student Research Day program at Cal State Fullerton. The university also presented Outstanding Student Poster and Exhibit Awards to three students.

More than 60 poster presentations were made during the April 7 program. The winners of Outstanding Scholarly and Creative Activities awards were selected for their presentation content, originality, clarity and style, said Terri R. Patchen, professor of elementary and bilingual education, as well as student creative activities and research faculty fellow.

Inaugural recipients of the Outstanding Student Poster and Exhibit Awards were selected on level of sophistication, rigor of research, innovation and creativity of the work presented, said Patchen. Winners are:

  • Nicole Tronske of Fullerton, senior, biological science-marine biology
  • Kasey Winkler of Brea, senior, human services
