U.S. Rep. Ed Royce Hosts Sixth Annual Women's Conference
Feb. 27, 2014
What issues do women face today? Campus and community members are invited to explore those issues Saturday, March 15, during the sixth annual Women's Conference hosted by Rep. Ed Royce at Cal State Fullerton's Titan Student Union.
Actress and model Angie Harmon, who is engaged in work to raise awareness and fight human trafficking, is the keynote speaker for the free, half-day program. She currently serves as a UNICEF ambassador to fight human trafficking. In this role, she advocates on behalf of the world's most vulnerable children — those who are trafficked.
Harmon currently stars on TNT's "Rizzoli & Isles" as the title character Jane Rizzoli. She is best known for her role as Assistant District Attorney Abbie Carmichael on NBC's Emmy Award-winning drama "Law & Order." She also appeared as the lead in ABC's "Women's Murder Club" as homicide detective Lindsay Boxer.
Break-out sessions on such topics as personal finance, healthy living and cyber safety will be offered. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m., and the program will conclude with Harmon's keynote address.
