Jones Named Interim Dean of Health and Human Development

C. Jessie Jones, chair and professor of health science, has been appointed to serve as interim dean of the College of Health and Human Development, effective July 1.
Jones follows Shari McMahan, who assumes new responsibilities as deputy provost at Cal State Fullerton beginning July 1.
Jones has a Ph.D. from Ohio State and served as a professor of kinesiology and health promotion at the University of New Orleans prior to her arrival at Cal State Fullerton in 1992. Since then, she has served in various leadership roles, including director of the Ruby Gerontology Center, coordinator of gerontology academic programs, co-founder and director of the Lifespan Wellness Center, the Center for Successful Aging, and founder and director of the Fibromyalgia and Chronic Pain Center.
Jones also served on the Academic Senate for seven years and as chair of the Department of Health Science since January 2011.
