Cal State Fullerton Junior Named to CSU Board of Trustees

Gov. Jerry Brown has named Kelsey Brewer, a Cal State Fullerton student and Fullerton resident, to the California State University Board of Trustees. Her appointment is effective July 1.
The 25-member Board of Trustees is the governing body of the 23-campus Cal State University system.
Brewer, a junior this fall, is a political science major who is active on campus. She is chief governmental officer for Cal State Fullerton’s student government, Associated Students Inc. She also served as campus liaison for the Resident Student Association.
Last year, she took part in a national competition on campus to create awareness about the U.S. debt.
Brewer, 20, will attend her first board meeting on July 22. She said she’s not going in with an agenda. “If you go in with an agenda, it makes you less responsive.”
She does have ideas, though. One is to boost graduation rates by improving student advising so that students are taking the right courses to graduate in a timely manner. Continue reading the Orange County Register.
