Humanities and Social Sciences Week Event Steps Back Into Medieval Times

It's not every day you get to see medieval wrestling and sword fights on campus.
Backswords, daggers, longswords, messers, polearms, rapiers, sickles, along with traditional medieval attire and food, were all part of “A Journey Through European Martial Cultures,” an event put on by the school's European Studies Society.
The March 12 event was part of Cal State Fullerton's Humanities and Social Sciences Week.
The event highlighted historical European martial arts by providing attendees with academic presentations and live demonstrations.
“The (European Studies Society's) goal is to promote the culture and history of Europe by hosting different events,” said group president Gerardo Ixta.
This event in particular tailored to the culture of Western Europe.
