It's Another Win for Electrical Engineering Students
June 5, 2014
It was a sweep for CSUF electrical engineering students who won first, second and third place in the graduate category at the recent 2014 Natcar competition at UC Davis. The collegiate competition attracted a field of 30 teams from mostly California institutions, including four CSUF teams that designed and built autonomous race cars.
"Very Orange" by alumnus Michael Yeh won first place; "Team 7" by graduate student Ye Lu , second place; and "Johnny Walker" by May grad Chung-Wei Yang placed third. "Very Orange" and "Team 7" officially set a record in Natcar history with the fastest times of 11.26 seconds and 11.01 seconds, respectively. The students also have won other recent competitions, where they put their electrical engineering design experience to the test.
Natcar is a design contest created by UC Davis and National Semiconductor, and presented in conjunction with UC Berkeley and sponsored by Texas Instruments.
