Osher Lifelong Learning Institute Offers Free Saturday Lectures

Planning for a rewarding retirement is the focus of a free, public lecture series offered by Cal State Fullerton's Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI). The Saturday classes provide professional advice on a variety of topics related to transitioning into retirement.

Sept. 20 – "Retirement Mini-Series Part 2: Financial Road to Retirement" presented by Danielle Blunt, financial planner, Edward Jones
Sept. 27 – "Retirement Mini-Series Part 3: Partners in Retirement – Yours, Mine and Ours" presented by Edythe M. Krampe, lecturer in sociology, Cal State Fullerton
Oct. 4 – " Foot and Ankle Problems" with Marie Keplinger, podiatric surgeon, St. Jude Medical Center
Oct. 11 – "Medicare Essentials: What You Need to Know When You Sign Up for Benefits" presented by Stan Brock, public information officer, Council on Aging – Orange County, Health Insurance Counseling and Advocacy Program
Oct. 18 – "Self Defense for Personal Security" with Charles Robert, master and owner, Brea Shao Lin Kung Fu Studio
Oct. 25 – "Cleaning Out the Clutter and Hoarding" by Penny Lambright, owner, Clutter Cleaners
Nov. 1 – "Screening for Cancer in Light of New Guidelines" presented by Chris Celio, family physician, St. Jude Medical Center
Nov. 8 – "Smart Phone and Tablet Travel Applications" presented by Bob Newcomb and Rick Hearn, OLLI-CSUF computer education instructors
Nov. 15 – "Social Security Essentials" presented by a Social Security Administration representative
Nov. 22 – "Emergency Preparedness – Preparing for the Big One and More" Sue Fisher, emergency management coordinator, Cal State Fullerton
This year marks the 35th anniversary for Cal State Fullerton's Osher Lifelong Learning Institute, a self-supporting University affiliate group of more than 1,500 retired and semiretired individuals dedicated the pursuit of lifelong learning.
