OLLI Plans August Open House
July 30, 2014
Cal State Fullerton's Osher Lifelong Learning Institute will host a Saturday, Aug. 9, fall open house to inform campus and community members of the wide range of classes and activities available to those "north of 50." The 9 a.m. program will be offered in the Ruby Gerontology Center and includes an overview of the organization's fall lineup of more than 140 classes and activities, as well as the benefits of membership and a tour of the facilities. The event is free and open to the public, and includes a light lunch and refreshments.
Among the yearly offerings are lecture series on art, science and "Transitions in Retirement," as well as instruction in Spanish, French, Italian and German, use of computers, smart phones and iPads, creative writing, sculpture and painting; and activities such as yoga, tap dancing and tennis. Members also receive free admission to Titan athletic events, access to the Pollak Library, free campus parking and opportunities to audit University classes.
This year marks the 35th anniversary for OLLI, a self-supporting University affiliate group of more than 1,500 retired and semiretired individuals dedicated to lifelong learning. More information about OLLI is available online, by calling 657-278-2446 or email.
