Award Supports Lectures, Research in Chemical Sciences
Aug. 14, 2014
Cal State Fullerton has received a 2014 Jean Dreyfus Boissevain Lectureship for Undergraduate Institutions grant award to support a lecture series and undergraduate research in the chemical sciences. The University is one of five institutions nationwide selected for the $18,500 Camille and Henry Dreyfus Foundation grant.
The grant will underwrite bringing a leading researcher to campus to give public and technical lectures in the chemical sciences and for the summer research of two undergraduates. Amanda Evans and Alexandra Orchard, both incoming assistant professors of chemistry and biochemistry, co-submitted the grant proposal and will direct the effort.
The lecture series is tentatively scheduled for spring, followed by the May selection of the undergrads who will conduct research with Evans and Orchard during the summer of 2015.
