Cal State Fullerton’s College of Education is co-hosting the inaugural K-12 Orange County Dual Immersion Institute on campus Friday, Sept. 25. Focusing on dual immersion instruction in Spanish, more than 85 teachers, administrators and other educators from across the state, including Orange County schools, are participating.

The institute, in partnership with the California Association for Bilingual Education, will focus on developing and refining academic Spanish, said Fernando Rodríguez-Valls, associate professor of secondary education, who is among presenters.

“We’re hosting this institute to provide support to teachers and administrators working in bilingual and dual immersion schools,” Rodríguez-Valls said. “Hosting the institute positions the College of Education as the frontrunner on biliteracy across the state.”

The institute will be conducted entirely in Spanish. For more information, contact Rodríguez-Valls.
