'Dune' Exhibition Opening at CSUF's Pollak Library

“Dune,” a popular science fiction novel written by Frank Herbert, will celebrate its 50th anniversary next month at Cal State Fullerton’s Pollak Library.

The celebration will include a speaker series, an exhibition, film screenings and a costume contest.

The exhibit, titled Dune: From Print to Cinema and Beyond, will include the university’s Frank Herbert manuscript collection and artwork by CSUF artists. Experts will discuss today’s relevance of the political, social and environmental themes from the novel.

Dune won the Hugo and Nebula awards in 1966 for the best science fiction novel of the year.

The speaker series will run through the first week of November and the exhibition will run through Dec. 23. Continue reading.
