Business and community leaders gathered April 23 to hear economists Anil Puri and Mira Farka review what has happened and what is expected to happen with the local, state and national economies at the Midyear Economic Forecast Conference, "The Visible Hand: Fed Policy and Outlook for Growth."
The annual program, which follows the October Economic Forecast, is presented by Cal State Fullerton's Mihaylo College of Business and Economics.
During the presentation, the co-directors of the Woods Center for Economic Analysis and Forecasting reported that the outlook for Orange County and Southern California is optimistic, although slow, with county payroll employment growing by 2.6 percent in 2015 and 2.8 percent in 2016, and regional growth by 2.8 this year and 3 percent next year. Housing prices also are expected to continue upward.
